NCLB Review Day 1 Update 5 Encore

Late Breaking News!!!!   The NCLB Team interviewed teachers after school.  Somewhere in the middle of the interviews the discussion got heated.  Apparently this has been a stressful experience for a lot of teachers. (As well as everyone else!!!!!!)   The focus of the NCLB team is on validating the work the school is already doing.  Program Improvement efforts and Comprehensive School Reform are not an easy thing to accomplish.  One of the major themes coming out of the review so far has been around communication in the school.  There needs to be a common ground where all of us can meet and work.  I see myself somewhere in the middle.  I am able to relate to both classroom experience and a more global view of our school and teachers.  In no way is the review meant to be punitive.  It is to be used as a tool for planning program improvement.  Remembering this will help us reach the objectives and recommendations being proposed.  This has been Coordinator2.  Stay tuned in tommorow for more late breaking news from behind the NCLB wall.

  1. Why, man, he doth bestride the narrow world
Like a Colossus; and we petty men
Walk under his huge legs, and peep about
    To find ourselves dishonourable graves.
Men at some time are masters of their fates:
The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars,
But in ourselves, that we are underlings.
    Shakespeare

Seems that at times like this I think of so many of Shakespeare’s plays that I’ve seen and read and that have moved me by their powerful emotions and human machinations. And I think, “Ah, my friend, ’tis naught but human frailty–the blame game.”
